A epic character and toy! What boy growing up in the 80's didn't own or at least play with G1 Optimus Prime. Vehicle mode is nice and could pass for a model truck. Bot mode is classic Prime that we all know. I love the chrome paint. Autobots Roll out!

High detail, love roller too. Die-cast metal all over Prime´s body. Also, the main guy in the G1. This is a must have in every collection, doesn´t matter if it´s the original or some of the many reissues.

This Transformer is a must for any Transformers G1 Collection and on July 24th, I'm planning to be keeping an eye out for 2 G1 Optimus Prime originals that have the metal plates in his trailer which is real cool.

Optimus is awesome but megatron surpasses him on the coolometer the trailer on its own was cool

I Got The 25 Ann. Edition For Christmas, He Is Freakin Awesome. If Your A Transformer Fan You Must Have One!

While he is one of the best G1's ever, the 25th ann. version has a few flaws that prevent a 10. Short stacks, then the paint apps are off on eyes. Finally the hands now have little extensions that affect the holding of the gun. Nevertheless he is awesome.

If I could give it more than 10, then I would! I got the 25th Anniversary edition for Christmas, so it came with a load of other stuff. I give it the best possible rating mainly for the history @_@.

Let's review: Compatability with the Autobot Cars, great articulation, high character value, trailer that becomes a robot...amazing. Mine is the New Years Version, but take him in any form!

best toy EVER

A classic hero from the 80s who had a great toy. Articulation was highly limited then, so given that Prime even had articulated elbows was miraculous. And the trailer extras (base and Roller) are the icing on the cake.

This toy was not only excellent in 84, but is also one of my favorites today. Any toy reviews are irrelevent: He's the first Optimus Prime! The autobot's first fearless leader! Without optimus, transformers would not be what it is today.

The greatest of all time. Best articulation of any in 84-85. Pretty simple transformation, but looks great in either mode. Not as "cool" as Megatron but what hero is? And let's face it: Leader-1's headstone likely reads "A poor man's Prime."

I got my Optimus for christmas, and I was impressed. He has a fun action-feature in his trailer, and decent articulation. Not to mention there's something about owning a replica of the legendary Autobot Commander. Get it if you can
