Reviews - Energon Scorponok
I don't know if this matters, but his legs kinda pivot, but G1 scorponok didn't have hip movement either, maybe thats part of the homage. And you can transform him in 2 ways as a bot, 1 w/ shoulder out, 1 w/ shoulders up. either 1 works for me.
however you did catch me on the hip pivot, but all in all they could have screwed him up so easly, and they didn't. Also dude, notice alot of reviews compare him with the $40 prime, considering all scorponok can do compared to prime the price is good.
to each his own! i got ya, if you take his shoulders and leave them straight up, he can lift his arms up & down. its all about how you transform him in robot form. Personally i like the fact that you have the choice. it just adds to the value.
I think what I meant when I said he lacks articulation is that there's no sort of hip pivot and he can't hold his arms straight infront of him. I just really wasn't impressed with how little there was to such a pricy TF. But hey, to each his own. ^^
absolutly fantastic! i am really impressed with the obvious amount of love and attention that went into making him. He is a new mold that pays homage to an old mold. Excellent movement, colors are also a homage. They did a great job with scorponok.
NICE JOB!!! He is durable, fun, looks cool, and is fairly easy to transform into all 3 modes. And he was much harder to find then I thought he'd be. Only 1 store out of 4 had any, and they only had 2. Wal-Mart is the place. $22 and worth it.
this toy is awsome but i like the g1 version better
All i can say is that they set the bar pretty high with this guy. I hope that Galvatron is as equally impressive and has GOOD ARTICULATION, including his legs!! I'm alittle scared that they will screw him up somehow. So lets keep our fingers crossed.
In my opinion he is much better then Armada Megs. His legs have great articulation and so do his claws/arms. I like the way he looks as a jet and a scorpion vehicle. As a robot, he looks much stronger then megs, and i really like the homage 2 G1.
What do you mean he can hardly move? he can sit, stand, he can hold hot shot in his claw. that is good movement. his head turns, his arms bend and turn. what exactly doesn't move? he is VERY poseable, and just about every other review agrees.
i know these will be deleted soon since there not really reveiws, but i need to chime in as well. I think He is very unique and well done. Mine has great articulation so I can not complain. for a non repainted non resculpted, new mold, its awsome.
I have to toatly disagree here. Scorponok is one of the best tfs to come along in awhile. Espcially after that $40 OP. But i believe your entitled to your opinion. sadly though here, you are out numbered i think...yessss! But anyways i like him alot.
I'm not sure if I'm allowed to defend my review but I'd like to tell hulk that I DO know a bit about TFs as I own all of armada and RID, among others. I know what quality is. A robot that can hardly move ISN'T quality. He's a good homage, but a bad toy.
1st off, good price. 2nd off, excellent homage to g1 scorponok. Its easy to transform him into his 3 forms, and he has details out the wazoo. His articulation scores a 100%. I am very pleased with this new tf, I highly recomend you check him out. A+
This is one mean dude! What an impressive new character, unique but with a similar sculpt to his G1 namesake. Only with MUCH better articulation, and city mode was replaced w/ a cool jet mode. JUST AWESOME!
G1 scorponok was one of my all time favorite TF toys, so this guy means alot to me. For a new mold, it is beutiful, smaller then his ancestor but still looking quite powerful. his head is VERY WELL DONE! And all forms are A++. EXCELLENT JOB!
THIS TOY IS DA BEST THING TO HAPPEN TO ENERGON SO FAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The best bot I've seen in years! He looks like a smaller yet beefed up version of his G1 counterpart the only thing I'd add to him are some real working pistons. Beyond that I dubbed him "ZARRAK'S GHOST" and recomend you buy 2
scorponok is a great toy, fun forms, easy to transform, does not have alot of loose parts that can be lost. Nothing falls off either. good color. He is my 1st energon figure and so far I am very impressed.
jet is nicely designed, i love the engines/ Scorpion is perfectly balanced with good details/Robot is tough looking and poesable(sp?)/ claws are also nicely sculpted. Overall he has a very cool look to him, Its new, its nice and its not a repaint yay!
i think they did a great job on him, the only thing that i don't like is the bright orange color. it seems out of place otherwise there are no complaints here. he's sturdy, mean lookin, and i love the scorpion truck combo and jet. great job.
i agree with hulk..scorponok does not deserve lower then a 9. really now, G1, the 1st wave of toys relied on transforming as the gimick. scorponok does that really well. sure he is noisy, take the batts out. But i think he's perfect.
all i can say is EXCELLENT JOB!! its nice to see the G1 style again, only with beast wars type articulation. he is a breath of fresh air, its nice to see that alot of love and attention went into making him, hope its not a rarity in this series.
I really didn't think i would like him but he turned out to be a nice surprise. love the details, great articulation. easy to transform, and elctronics don't get in the way he is becoming my favorite out of this series for $25 he is as good as unicron
i like him, he is a bit noisy, but his batteries can be removed. Now this is what i call a transformer! A real transformer doesn't need alot of gimiks. Thats what made G1 so great. His details are really nice, and all forms look and feel rite.
