A really nice update to the G1 version, but sadly he's started showing his age due to limited articulation and overall design aesthetics. A new Generations Hotrod/Rodimus is due...preferably one based on More Than Meets the Eye appearances

This one's well... meh. A sloppy paint job, and very hindering articulation. The oversized gun didn't help either. That being said, it's still a faithful rendition of the character (you can tell its Hot Rod because of the flashy red and small stature).

I love HotRod but the chest part keeps breaking off so much it's SO ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bass X0
An above average toy. If he were in Cybertron unchanged, he would have been awesome but in Classics he doesn't compare to the other Classics toys. Very bricky and has less poseability. Transformation isn't that special or well thought out. Kinda small.

Wheelie is My Name
Great car mode. Great detail in the face. Hot Rod is just cheap looking. Looks on my Transformer shelf.

Electro Boogie Bot
Nice! Rodimus looks great in both modes. Hope he is in the next Transformers movie!

Awsome figure but my *beep*in brother broke it!

RedOktobre
A great figure! Although the figure can be manipulated to pose in a variety of ways, the doors, sides, and top limit leg & arm movement at times. Also, the torso is not stiff enough & moves up when I move the hands up. The projectile gun is strong!!!

hot rod was my first buy of the classic line. With just one night of play went out and bought rest of the collection. Now I have all of them current.

Both modes look great, and each is extremely solid. The proportions and everything on the robot mode are nearly perfect. My favorite by far of the Deluxe Classics.

I wasn't sure about buying him, but finally gave in...and am glad that I did. Both robot and vehicle mode are sweet. I never thought I'd have much use for him in my TF univers, but I was wrong, great addition to anyone's collection.

Hi, Hot Rod. I've missed you. Have you put on weight? No matter, it's still good to have you back. He's a bit on the bulky side, but a solid toy nontheless. The car is awesome, and the 'bot does the original Hot Rod (not Rodimus Prime) great justice.

I figured out what bugs me about his robot mode. There are two vehicle mode peices on his upper legs and it kind limits leg articulatio and makes it look reall odd in robot mode.

He looks a bit like the original. The robot mode bugs me though. His vehicle mode is sweet though. Not sure what bugs me about his robot mode but something does. Great toy over all.

Hot Rod (I refuse to call him Rodimus) is an excellent figure. The articulation is great, if not perfect, the construcxtion is solid, and I haven't had any problems with panels not lining up. The only problem I have with him is his mouth.

Figueroa's a genius - this is so far my favourite transformer toy ever; it's a shame that poor quality control spoils the look of the car, which is otherwise beautiful, but the robot mode is perfection, like a small Binaltech, just with more character.

Also the hands are smaller so they can hold the original's guns (admit it, I'm a genius...); the detail is so fine and crisp, it makes me wish I'd not awarded Op a perfect 10: he's good, but not as good as this...

If you play around with posing him, you can get a really good action stance. Thank Primus they are going back to the originals.
